Calgary Region 2007 Norm McLeod Community Inclusion
Dreamweaver Award Winner and Leadership Award Finalist
“I was very pleased to attend the 6th Annual Norm McLeod Community Inclusion Awards and to celebrate with my colleagues on the Board, Dr. Alex Hillyard, CEO and over 100 individuals, organizations and their guests,” said Jeff Nish, Chair, Calgary Region Community Board Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD.)
The Norm McLeod Community Inclusion Awards, which were held in Calgary on October 19, 2007, celebrate the career and contributions of Norm McLeod, who throughout his 35- year career inspired countless people with his untiring commitment to community inclusion. Mr. McLeod has a personal vision of people with developmental disabilities living as full participants in their communities. more

Dr. Alex Hillyard, CEO, Calgary Region Community Board Persons with Developmental Disabilities and Sharon Cobb, recipient of the 2007 Norm McLeod Community Inclusion Dreamweaver Award attend the 3rd Annual Family Summit celebration.
Mrs. Cobb was presented with a plaque and flowers by Calgary Region Family Voices to recognize her accomplishments and thank her for her dedication to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Her work with Calgary Region Family Voices and the Alberta Association for Community Living inspires others to become involved in promoting community inclusion.

Orvella Small, 2007 Norm McLeod Community Inclusion Leadership Award finalist, Wendy McDonald, President, Alberta Association for Community Living and member of the Norm McLeod Award Selection Committee and Dr. Alex Hillyard CEO, Calgary Region Community Board Persons with Developmental Disabilities display the plaque that Mrs. Small received at the Norm McLeod Community Inclusion Awards ceremony held in Calgary on October 19, 2007.
Mrs. Small was recognized for the development of innovative ways to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. Her work with the Foothills Special Needs Association for Parents and Siblings and the Alberta Home and School Association motivates others to embrace the inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities.
